Exa’s optimization solution is a statistical response surface-based approach. Through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using PowerFLOW and then we create a response surface from those simulations and do a statistical analysis based on that response surface. It’s a fully automated process, explains Dr. Andrea Shestopalov, Exa’s Director of Optimization.
Exa’s optimization solution assists manufacturers in meeting design targets by finding their optimal design through automated, targeted simulation. It allows designers to innovate in a cost-effective, deadline-driven environment. The automated approach allows for competing design aspects (i.e. fuel efficiency vs. aesthetics) to be considered and optimized throughout the process. Trade-offs between design changes can be computed, visualized and easily comprehended in our solution.
